Information | Call 1-833-284-6227 to see if you qualify for help based on income and your situation. You may have to leave a voicemail message. In order to receive help, you must be a low income Oklahoman with a federal tax problem. Please call our office to see if you qualify. We cannot prepare tax returns for you. Once we have confirmed that you meet our eligibility criteria, you will be asked to send us the most recent notices you have received from the IRS and the Department of Revenue. Within a few weeks, a tax advocate will call you to find out more about your specific problem. After we know more about your problem, we will determine whether we can provide assistance. If we cannot accept your case, we will try to give you some advice on how to represent yourself. Please be aware that until you receive something in writing from us confirming that we have accepted your case, we do not represent you and you will have to meet any deadlines on your own. |
Who We Are
Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma is an independent non-profit law firm that provides statewide legal services to low income clients.
The Low Income Taxpayer Clinic helps people with tax problems who cannot afford a private attorney.
We can help:
* Represent clients in tax court
* Stop liens and levies
* Assist with audits
* Appeal Earned Income Credit denials
* Settle tax debts Help with Innocent Spouse Relief and Injured Spouse claims
We never charge a fee for our services
We have access to interpretation and translation services so that we may assist non-English speaking clients.
Though our office is located in Oklahoma City, we are able to assist clients from around the state. It is not necessary for clients to come to our office since we are able to do most of our work by phone, mail and fax.
