Terminating Parental Rights

Authored By: Self & Spurgeon

Information

Parents have to provide care for the child such as food, shelter, and protection. If a parent has not been able to fulfill the responsibilities of being a parent, they can be terminated as a caregiver in a process called “termination of parental rights.” When this occurs, the parent is severed from all decision making in the child’s life.
